Founded in August 1991, this woman’s monastic community presently has a nun and a novice. The monastic form is cenobitic or communal which was originally developed by St. Pachomios, another 4th century disciple of St. Anthony the Great.

St. Isacc’s School

Located at the mission center, the convent is waiting to relocate nearby when a suitable property can be found and funds are available. The nuns work now at the mission, icon production, and library, as well as daily monastic chores.

A primary Orthodox parochial grade school began in September 1994, offering lst and 2nd grades. The school has a unique integrated approach and curriculum which attempts to bring to educational philosophy a unified perspective that is comprehensive, non-fragmented, hierarchical, and personal.

Described by the consensus of the Saints as the “mind of the Church,” this unified perspective brings both teachers and students into a different life and faith, as the Holy Trinity reveals itself in this world. Not merely “regular” school with religion classes added-every subject; i.e., history, science, math, art, English, spelling, handiwork, and Greek are consciously brought back to this unified Orthodox perspective of all nature, history and philosophy.

Located at the mission center, the school began in 1994 with an enrollment of 3 students and has expanded to a summer program of 16. This creative and complete approach to education will later become available as a home schooling and supplemental program for the Orthodox home.

Saint Nicholas Orthodox Mission Church

Founded in April 1987, this small mission church is dedicated to Saint Nicholas, one of the most beloved Saints of the Church. Saint Nicholas lived in Myra in Lycia in Asia Minor in the 4th century and his relics were later transferred to Bari, Italy.

Known for his mercy and philanthropy, Saint Nicholas was a staunch defender of the faith, and is the patron of children and travelers. Of the nearly 70 people who worship here, more than half are children. The mission outreach is guided and helped by Saint Nicholas’ kind intercessions.
